Hey guys! I hope you’re having a wonderful week. I’ve had a few people reach out to me in regards to picking a Realtor, so I thought I would give you all my top 5 tips for picking a one! As always, if you have questions that I do not answer in this post, please message me on Instagram or send me an email! Here we go!
1. Compatibility: Make sure you get along with the Realtor you choose.
You could be working with your Realtor for several months and spend several hours together. You want to make sure you have similar interests and get along easily! No, you do not need to agree on everything, but make sure you feel like you’re on the same “team.” The relationship you build with your Realtor is very important!
2. Think About What’s Most Important to YOU.
Everyone has different needs, so you want to make sure you’re picking a Realtor that meets YOUR needs. Some Realtors specialize in land, some specialize in smaller towns, some in new builds, etc. You want to make sure you pick someone who’s an expert in what YOU are looking for.
3. Technology/Marketing
If you are selling your home, you need to think about how you want your home marketed. Do you want to work with a Realtor that only puts his or her listings in a magazine or newspaper, or do you want someone who is up-to-date with the latest technology trends? Nowadays, the marketing strategies Realtors use online, help homes sell so much faster! Make sure you talk to your Realtor about the strategies they plan to use while marketing your home.
4. Evaluate Overall Skill
Who has the most experience with buyer’s like yourself? Who has the best reviews? Who saves their buyers and sellers the most money? Who knows the local market? Who has the most closings per year? Do your research.
5. Connections
There are countless Realtors in each city, but it is up to YOU to find one that you enjoy working with. Since there are so many choices, most people know one. But just because you know a Realtor, does not mean you have to use them. You want to make sure you are using a Realtor that has connections in your area. Does the Realtor have connections in the market you are looking to buy/sell in? Realtors should not only have connections with potential or past clients. They should know plumbers, contractors, bankers, loan officers, roofers, appraisers, and the list goes on!
